Edge and Internet Explorer Vulnerability

  •      A vulnerability identified in 2x web browser i.e. Edge and Internet Explorer that allows embedding of malicious JavaScript to fetch information about webpages visited by the user
  •     It is advised to avoid using such web browsers until the security patch is released.

WhatsApp Update

  •  Whatsapp has discovered and fixed the vulnerabilities that allows attackers to remotely inject commercial spyware into phones.
  •  WhatsApp users are advised to immediately update their application to avoid any possible threat.

 WINDOWS 10 UPDATES

  •  Microsoft has released new cumulative updates for Windows 10 version 1903, 1809 and 1803.
  •  All users are advised to apply these security updates.

Cyber Threat Early Warning System

  •  Malware is spreading through email with subject "Cyber Policy 2019" having payload distribution via URL  "pakcert.gov-pk.org".
  •  Downloading and executing file from above email will execute malware in background that may result in hacking of the system. Therefore, do not download attachments from suspicious links.

Cyber Threat Alert-Malicious Email

  •  Malicious Email with subject "Key Discussion Points During Summit Between India and China" from fake email id "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it."; is being sent to steal sensitive   information. Email contains a link to download masqueraded shortcut file which when opened executes a backdoor channel to the hacker in background and opens a fake document in foreground. Therefore, don't click/ download from this link

Cyber Threat Alert-Malicious Email

  • A malicious email with subject "Inauguration Ceremony Kartarpur Corridor on 09 Nov 2019" is being sent to steal sensitive information by the hackers. Email contains a genuine looking word document, that shows a document in foreground and exploit executes in background. Therefore, don't click/ download such emails.
  • A malicious email with subject "NDU Foreign Study Tour (FST)- 2020" is being sent from a fake account (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), to steal sensitive information by the hackers. Email contains a legitimate pdf document looking origional but it has a malware which executes in the background. Don't click/ download such documents.
